Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of HL according to sex, age and HL type in a ten-year period at Clinical Hospital Centre Osijek. Immunohistochemical profiling was performed on all HL for the purpose of differentiation and classification. Structure of the study: Cross-sectional study with historical data. Participants and methods: The study included 71 case of HL diagnosed at Clinical Institute for Pathology and Forensic Medicine at Clinical Hospital Centre Osijek in a ten-year period using immunohistochemical method based on determination of a standard markers CD15. CD20, CD30, EMA and PAX5. For immunohistochemical method an automated stainer Ventana BenchMark Ultra and monoclonal antibodies of the company Roche have been used. Results: Majority of participants (24 %) was at the age of 21 – 30. 54 % of all participants was male and 46 % was female. The NLPHL was more common in men, especially at the age of 51 – 60, while the CHL was more common in women, significantly more common at the age of 21 – 30. Both NLPHL and CHL were mostly diagnosed inside lymph nodes. The most common subtype of CHL was NS (55 %) with the highest prevalence at the age of 21 – 30. The MC also showed significant incidence (25 %) with the highest prevalence at the age of 41 – 50 as well as at the age of 71 – 80. Inside neck lymph nodes, significantly more often diagnoses were NS (72 %) and MC (12 / 16). The most frequently used markers were CD30 and CD15. CD15 showed positivity in 91 % of the cases, while CD30 was positive in 93 % of them. Conclusion: Immunohistochemistry is essential in diagnostic and classification of HL.
