Objectives: The aim of this research was to determine the prevalence of COVID-19 positive patients with a kidney transplant, to examine the proportion of hospitalized COVID-19 positive patients with a kidney transplant, to examine the outcome of the disease, to examine whether there are differences in the age, sex of the patient, body mass index, associated diseases, and the time since transplantation with regard to the outcome of the disease. Study Design: The study is designed as a cross-sectional study with historical data. Patients and Methods: The study involved 39 patients with a kidney transplant, at the Department of Nephrology of the Osijek University Hospital who were COVID-19 positive until March 1, 2022. Demographic and clinical data were collected from the medical history - age, gender, height, body mass, underlying kidney disease, associated diseases (diabetes, arterial hypertension, etc.), outcome and time since transplantation (in years). The Charlson Comorbidity Index (CCI) was used to measure comorbidity assessment. Results: The research determined that the age, gender and BMI of the patients had no statistically significant connection with the outcome. Deceased patients had a significantly higher value of the Charlson comorbidity index compared to surviving patients and a significantly greater difference in time since transplantation than surviving patients. Conclusion: The significance of individual risk factors for the outcome of COVID-19 in the general population differs in kidney transplant recipients.
