Abstract
CILJ ISTRAŽIVANJA. Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je utvrditi je li došlo do povećanja slušne osjetljivosti nakon postavljanja ventilacijskih cjevčica djeci kojoj je potvrđena dijagnoza provodne nagluhosti uzrokovana upalom srednjeg uha s efuzijom. Također, trebalo se utvrditi za koliko se dB slušna osjetljivost povećala, koliko su prosječno dugo ventilacijske cjevčice bile postavljenje u bubnjiću te postoji li razlika u učestalosti javljanja provodne nagluhosti u odnosu na spol. USTROJ STUDIJE. Retrospektivno istraživanje temeljeno na podatcima prikupljenim iz operacijskih protokola i povijesti bolesti bolesnika liječenih postavljanjem ventilacijskih cjevčica. ISPITANICI I METODE. Ispitanici su bolesnici operativno liječeni postavljanjem ventilacijskih cjevčica u Klinici za otorinolaringologiju i kirurgiju glave i vrata u razdbolju od 1.1. 2010. od 1. 5. 2016. godine. Svim ispitanicima napravljena je timpanometrija i tonskaaudiometrija. REZULTATI. Postavljanje ventilacijskih cjevčica dovelo je do znatnog poboljšanja slušne osjetljivosti kod svih ispitanika i to u vrijednostima od 21,3 dB na desnom uhu i 27,2 dB na lijevom uhu. Ventilacijske cjevčice prosječno su bile postavljene oko 11 mjeseci. U uzorku ispitanika provodna je nagluhost češća kod djevojčica kojih u uzorka ispitanika ima 23/40 i ta razlika nije statistički značajna. ZAKLJUČAK. Rezultati ovog istraživanja ukazuju korisnost liječenja provodne nagluhosti kod djece postavljanjem ventilacijskih cjevčica što je u skladu s današnjim terapijskim preporukama.
Abstract (english)
AIM. Aim of this study was to determine weather there was an improvement in hearing sensitivity after placement of grommets in eardrums of children affected with conductive hearing loss as a consequence of otitis media with effusion. The study also identified how much the hearing improved, how long grommets in eardrum were on average and weather there is a difference in occurence of conductive hearing loss based on sex. STUDY DESIGN. Retrospective research based on operational protocole and patient history data. PATIENTS AND METHODS. Patients were children treated with grommet insertion at Clinic for Othorinolaringology and Head and Neck Surgery at Clinical Hospital Centre Osijek from 1st January 2010 to 1st May 2016. All patients were subjected to tympanometry and tonal audiometry as well. RESULTS. There was a significant improvement in hearing sensitivity in all patients. Average hearing sensitivity of the right ear improved for 21.3 dB and of the left ear for 27.2 dB. Grommets were placed in eardrum 11 months on average. In sample of 40 patients in this reasearch there were 23 girls, wich makes occurrence of conductive hearing loss more frequent in girls but sample of patients is small and statistically significant differrence was not found. CONCLUSION. Results of this research show that there is a benefit of grommets placement in children with conductive hearing loss caused by otitis media with effusion and that corresponds well with current treatment guidelines.
