Purpose of this research was to preset the correlation between stress factors and work locus of control in cases of nurses in KBC Osijek. Participants and methods This research gathered data from 81 respondents. Research method was consisted of one questionnaire designed in three parts; first part was about general information concerning respondent, the second one was Expanded Nursing Stress Scale (ENSS), and the third part was Work Locus of Control Scale (WLCS). First part of a questionnaire consists of 7 questions all concerning respondents’ age, gender, level of education, workplace, years of service in total and at the present department. Expanded Nursing Stress Scale (ENSS) consists of 57 statements all about working stressors, while Work Locus of Control Scale (WLCS) consists of 16 questions which are made in order to indicate if respondent belongs to internal or external locus of control. Results Group of respondents with internal locus of control showed strongest connection between lack of readiness and uncertainty while applying Health Care, uncertainty while applying Health Care and nurse-doctor relationship, and nurse-doctor relationship and relationship with the patients and their families (ρ = 0,836 p < 0,001). All other subscales had positive connections to each other. In case of a group of respondents with external locus of control all subscales had positive connections to each other. The most visible connection was between subscale of uncertainty while applying Health Care and nurse-doctor relationship (ρ=0,820 p<0,001), and relationship with other health care workers (ρ = 0,824 p < 0,001). Conclusion Regarding data collected it is noted that there is connection between stress factors and work locus of control. This research confirmed that stress factors have different impact on health care workers depending on their working locus of control type.
