Abstract
Cilj istraživanja Cilj istraživanja bio je ispitati razinu spolnih hormona kod neplodnih muškaraca. Ispitanici i metode U istraživanje je bilo uključeno 90 muških ispitanika: 13 ispitanika s azoospermijom, 13 ispitanika s oligospermijom i 64 ispitanika s normospermijom. Za istraživanje su se rabili uzorci krvi i preostali uzorci sjemene tekućine pacijenata koji su bili u postupku obrade radi ispitivanja neplodnosti zaprimljeni u Zavod za kliničku laboratorijsku dijagnostiku od ožujka do srpnja 2017. godine. U uzorcima sjemene tekućine, prema protokolu Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije (WHO, engl. World Health Organization), postupkom mikroskopske analize napravljena je analiza sjemene tekućine. Testosteron, FSH, LH i SHBG u serumu su izmjereni kemiluminiscentnom imunokemijskom metodom (CMIA) na imunokemijskom analizatoru ARCHITECT i1000SR (Abbott Diagnostics, Lake Forest, USA). Rezultati su obrađeni statističkim programom MedCalc verzija 12.0.0.0. (MedCalc Software, Mariakerke, Belgium). Rezultati Prosječne vrijednosti FSH-a u serumu bile su više u ispitanika s oligospermijom i azoospermijom (8,3 prema 3,7 pmol/L, P <0,001) u usporedbi s ispitanicima s normospermijom. Vrijednosti LH-a u serumu bile su više u ispitanika s oligospermijom i azoospermijom (4,2 prema 3,1 pmol/L, P = 0,027) u usporedbi s ispitanicima s normospermijom. Ispitivanjem Spearmanova koeficijenta korelacije utvrđeno je da između vrijednosti FSH-a i LH-a u serumu i parametara spermiograma postoji korelacija. Zaključak Određivanje spolnih hormona, kao što su FSH i LH može biti korisno za dobivanje informacija o spermatogenezi u neplodnih muškaraca.
Abstract (english)
Objective: The aim of the study was examine the level of sex hormones in infertile men. Materials and Methods: The study included 90 male subjects: 13 subjects with azoospermia, 13 subjects with oligospermia and 64 subjects with normospermia. The study used blood samples and remaining samples of semen fluid of patients who were in the process of examination for infertility testing received at the Department of Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics from March to July 2017. Microscopic analysis of semen liquid samples was made according to the World Health Organization (WHO) protocol. Testosterone, FSH, LH and SHBG in serum were measured by chemiluminescence immunochemical method (CMIA) on the ARCHITECT i1000SR immunochemical analyzer (Abbott Diagnostics, Lake Forest, USA). The results were processed using the statistical software MedCalc version 12.0.0.0. (MedCalc Software, Mariakerke, Belgium). Results: Average values of FSH in serum were higher among subjects with oligospermia and azoospermia (8,3 vs 3,7 pmol/L, P <0,001) compared with subjects with normospermia. Values of LH in serum were higher among subjects with oligospermia and azoospermia (4,2 vs 3,1 pmol/L, P = 0,027) compared with subjects with normospermia. Examination of Spearman's correlation coefficient determined that there is a correlation between the values of FSH and LH in serum and the parameters of spermiograme. Conclusion: Determination of sex hormones such as FSH and LH may be useful for obtaining information on spermatogenesis in infertile men. Key words: infertility, oligospermia, azoospermia, FSH, LH
