Objective: The main objective of the study was to examine the causes of symptoms of vertigo in children. Study design: The study was organized as a cross-sectional study. Participants and methods: Participants were children of both sexes aged 1 to 17 years who were treated at the Department of Pediatrics of the General County Hospital in Požega due to symptoms of vertigo and were treated as outpatients or hospitalized. Data were collected by researching medical records of the Department of Pediatrics of the General County Hospital Požega. MedCalc Statistical Software version 19.0.5 was used for statistical data processing. Results: The mean age of patients was 157.29 months with a standard deviation of 49.71 months. The age ranged from 1 year and 6 months to 17 years and 11 months. There was a predominance of females (70%) over males (30%). The most common diagnosis was vasovagal disorder (19%), but there were also 19% of cases with unknown or open etiology, followed by sinusitis (9%) and upper respiratory tract infections (7%), while other diagnoses were present in a smaller number of children. The most common symptom was headache (48%), and the most common pathological examination was balance test pathology (21%) with male predominance. Conclusion: According to this study, vasovagal disorders are the most common cause of vertigo in children. The incidence of vertigo increases with the age of the child. The study found a predominance of female children with symptoms of vertigo. Accurate anamnestic data are of the greatest importance in evaluating the cause of vertigo.
