OBJECTIVES: The objectives were to examine the number of dopamine receptor scintigraphies performed at the Clinical Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Radiation Protection of KBC Osijek in the last year, to calculate the percentage of scintigraphies in patients with Parkinson's disease in the total number, as well as the percentage of different referral diagnosis, to determine the connection between patient's sex and age and Parkinson's disease occurrence, as well as the connection between patient's sex and the localization of findings, to determine the connection between body mass and applied radiopharmaceutical activity. STUDY DESIGN: Cross-sectional study with historical data. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The research subjects were patients of both sexes and all age groups who underwent dopamine receptor scintigraphy from January 2022 to January 2023. Relevant data were collected from the Clinical Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Radiation Protection medical records archive. Scintigraphy was performed using 123I-Ioflupane on Siemens e-Cam or GE Optima. Scintigrams were processed using SyngoMI-VA50B or Xeleris software. RESULTS: From the total number of subjects, 97 (51,32 %) patients with Parkinson's disease underwent dopamine receptor scintigraphy. 60,8 % are male patients, while 39,2 % are female. The age median of all the patients is 70 years, with interquartile range from 60 to 75 years. In most cases (47,4 %), findings localization was on both sides. Nervous system disease is the most common referral diagnosis. In 80,4 % of patients, applied radiopharmaceutical activity is between 3 and 3,4 mCi. CONCLUSION: In a total number of cases, the share of dopamine receptor scintigraphy in patients with Parkinson's disease is 51,32 %. The analysis of the obtained data didn't show a significant difference in the occurrence regarding the patient's sex and age, in findings localization regarding the sex, or radiopharmaceutical activity regarding the patient's body mass.
