Abstract | Ciljevi rada: Ciljevi rada bili su ispitati adherenciju topikalnoj terapiji, znanje o nuspojavama
te povezanost navedenoga s demografskim i socioekonomskim pokazateljima, dermatološkom
bolesti i drugim lijekovima kronične terapije.
bolesti, trajanju lokalne terapije. Prikupljeni su podaci o adherenciji korištenjem TTAQ
upitnika.
i umirovljenike.
Abstract (english) | Objectives: The objectives of this study were to evaluate adherence to topical therapy,
knowledge about potential side effects and the association of these factors with demographic
and socioeconomic indicators, dermatological conditions, and other medications in chronic
therapy.
Study Design: The survey is designed as a cross-sectional survey.
Participants and Methods: The study included 117 participants who were using or had used
topical therapy, and they were assessed in a dermatology clinic. Data regarding age, gender,
education, medications in chronic therapy, knowledge of medication side effects,
dermatological conditions, and duration of local therapy were collected for each patient.
Adherence data were collected using the TTAQ questionnaire.
Results: Nearly one quarter of the patients was unaware of the side effects of the therapy they
were using, and among those who were aware, less than 50 % learned about them from
healthcare professionals, while 33,4 % obtained the information from the internet. The majority
of patients occasionally read the medication instructions, report side effects to their doctors, and
prefer using natural treatment methods. Students and individuals who always read the patient
information leaflet rated Benefit to patients and Treatment satisfaction higher compared to
unemployed individuals and retirees. Men attributed better tolerability to their current therapy,
while older patients found it more challenging to adhere to the current therapy compared to the
previous one. The median score for each domain was significantly closer to the highest rating
than the lowest.
Conclusion: Age, gender, reading medication instructions, and employment status have been
identified as factors influencing adherence to topical therapy, which can be considered
satisfactory on average within this patient group. Although most patients claim to be aware of
the side effects of their therapy, less than half of them learned about them from their healthcare
providers, with a significant number obtaining information fromthe internet. |
