| Abstract | Udruženost depresije, anksioznosti i stresa s N-glikozilacijom imunoglobulina G u studenata
Cilj istraživanja. Cilj je bio ispitati zastupljenost simptoma depresije, anksioznosti i stresa među
studentima te istražiti udruženost navedenih simptoma s N-glikozilacijom imunoglobulina G (IgG).
Nacrt studije. Presječno istraživanje.
Ispitanici i metode: U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 82 studenta (23 muškarca i 59 žena). Za procjenu
zastupljenosti simptoma depresije, anksioznosti i stresa korišten je DASS 21 (prema engl.
Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale 21). IgG je izoliran iz plazme, a sastav N-glikana je
analiziran kapilarnom gel elektroforezom.
Rezultati. Simptome depresije, anksioznosti i stresa izražavalo je 38 %, 50 % i 41,2 % ispitanika.
Studentice su izražavale više razine stresa od muških studenata (P = 0,028). Nije nađena značajna
razlika u N-glikomu IgG ispitanika koji su izražavali simptome depresije i onih koji nisu izražavali
simptome depresije. Ispitanici sa simptomima anksioznosti izražavali su niže razine A2B[3]G1
(digalaktoziliran biantenar s račvajućim N-acetilglukozaminom) od studenata bez takvih simptoma
(P = 0,016). Studenti sa simptomima stresa imali su više vrijednosti A2[6]G1S1
(monogalaktoziliran, monosijaliniziran biantenar) (P = 0,006) i FA2G2 (sržno fukoziliran,
digalaktoziliran biantenar) (P = 0,005), a niže vrijednosti A2G2[6]S1 (monogalaktoziliran,
monosijaliniziran biantenar) (P = 0,03), FA2 (sržno fukoziliran, agalaktoziliran) (P = 0,038), FA2B
(sržno fukoziliran, agalaktoziliran biantenar) (P = 0,014) i A2B[3]G1 od studenata koji nisu imali
simptome stresa (P = 0,002).
Zaključak. Unutar studentske populacije nađena je visoka zastupljenost simptoma depresije,
anksioznosti i stresa. Utvrđene su razlike u N-glikanima IgG između ispitanika koji su imali
simptome anksioznosti i stresa i onih koji nisu imali navedene simptome. |
| Abstract (english) | Association of depression, anxiety, and stress with N-glycosylation of immunoglobulins G in
students
Objectives. The study aimed to examine the prevalence of depression, anxiety, and stress
symptoms among students, and investigate their association with immunoglobulin G (IgG) Nglycosylation.
Study design. Cross-sectional study.
Participants and methods. The study involved 82 students (23 males and 59 females). The DASS
21 (Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale 21) was used to assess the prevalence depression,
anxiety, and stress symptoms. IgG was isolated from plasma, and the composition of N-glycans
was analyzed by capillary gel electrophoresis.
Results. Depression symptoms were reported in 38 % of participants, anxiety in 50 %, and stress
in 41.2 %. Female students exhibited higher levels of stress than male students (P = 0.028). No
difference in N-glycans was observed between participants with symptoms of depression and those
without symptoms of depression. Participants with anxiety symptoms expressed lower levels of
A2B[3]G1 (digalactosylated biantennary with branching N-acetylglucosamine) than students
without symptoms of anxiety (P = 0.016). Students with stress symptoms had higher levels of
A2[6]G1S1 (monogalactosylated, monosialylated biantennary) (P = 0.006) and FA2G2 (core
fucosylated, digalactosylated biantennary) (P = 0.005), but lower levels of A2G2[6]S1
(monogalactosylated, monosialylated biantennary) (P = 0.03), FA2 (core fucosylated,
agalactosylated) (P = 0.038), FA2B (core fucosylated, agalactosylated biantennary) (P = 0.014)
and A2B[3]G1 compared to students without stress symptoms (P = 0.002).
Conclusion. A high prevalence of depression, anxiety, and stress symptoms was observed within
the student population. Differences in IgG N-glycans were found between participants who had
symptoms of anxiety and stress and those who did not have these symptoms. |
