Abstract
Cilj istraživanja: Imunohistokemijski usporediti pojavnost HER1 i e-cadherina u tumorskim stanicama trostruko negativnog karcinoma dojke (TNBC) i u ostalim karcinomima dojke. Ustroj studije: Retrospektivna studija. Ispitanici i metode: Istraživanje je provedeno na 30 uzoraka tumorskog tkiva pacijentica kod kojih je dijagnosticiran TNBC i 30 uzoraka tumorskog tkiva ostalih karcinoma dojke. Imunohistokemijska pojavnost HER1 i e-cadherina procijenjena je semikvantitativno prema postotku pozitivno obojenih stanica: 0 (negativno), 1+ (do 11 % pozitivnih tumorskih stanica), 2+ (11-30 % tumorskih stanica), 3+ (30 % i više pozitivnih tumorskih stanica). Rezultati: Statistički značajno bilo je više slabo diferenciranih tumora u skupini trostruko negativnog karcinom dojke (P < 0,001). Bolesnice oboljele od trostruko negativnog karcinoma dojke su značajnije mlađe dobne skupine od bolesnica oboljelih od ostalih tipova raka dojke (P = 0,03). Statistički značajno je veća mitotska aktivnost u skupini trostruko negativnih karcinoma dojke u odnosu na kontrolnu skupinu (P < 0,001). U obje skupine nema značajnih razlika u ekspresiji HER1 i e-cadherina prema veličini tumora, nazočnosti metastaza u limfnim čvorovima, stupnju diferencijacije tumora, dobi bolesnica, ekspresiji hormonskih (ER i PR) receptora, amplifikaciji HER2 gena i mitotskoj aktivnosti tumora. Zaključak: Pojavnost HER1 (HER1) receptora i e-cadherina u trostruko negativnom karcinomu dojke u odnosu na ostale podskupine karcinoma dojke ne pokazuje statistički značajne razlike što upućuje na zaključak kako HER1 i e-cadherin nemaju značajniji terapijski potencijal u ovoj skupini raka dojke.
Abstract (english)
PARTICIPANTS AND METHODS: The study was conducted on 30 samples of tumour tissue samples from patients diagnosed with TNBC and 30 tumour tissue samples of other breast cancers. Immunohistochemistry of HER1 and e-cadherin was evaluated semi-quantitatively, according to the percentage of positively coloured cells: 0 (negative), 1+ (up to 11% of positive tumour cells), 2+ (11 – 30% tumour cells), 3+ (30% and more positive tumour cells). RESULTS: Statistically there were significantly fewer poorly differentiated tumours in the group of triple negative breast cancer (P<0.001). Patients suffering from triple negative breast cancer are significantly younger than patients with other breast cancer types (P=0.03). There is statistically significantly higher mitotic activity in the group of triple negative breast cancer compared to the control group (P<0.001). There are no significant differences in the expression of HER1 and e-cadherin in tumour size, lymph node metastases, degree of tumour differentiation, patients’ age, hormone (ER and PR) receptor expression, HER2 gene amplification, and mitotic tumour activity. CONCLUSION: The occurrence of HER1 (HER1) receptors and e-cadherin in triple negative breast cancer does not show statistically significant differences in comparison to other breast cancer subgroups, suggesting that so far HER1 and e-cadherin have no significant therapeutic potential.
