Research aims: The aim of the research is to examine the nutritional habits of the nursing students of the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health in Osijek, and to determine whether there are differences in the way and the quality of the students' diet in relation to the place of residence. Research type: Cross-sectional study Subjects and Methods: 174 undergraduate and graduate students of the Department of Dental Medicine and Health in Osijek participated in the study. The research was conducted in April and May 2018. An anonymous questionnaire consisting of 12 questions was used in the research. The first 5 questions refer to general information: age, gender, body height, body mass and place of residence. The second part refers to eating habits. The third part contains a table on the frequency of consumption of various foods. Results: 85.6% of female and 14.4% of male subjects participated in the study. Students usually have three meals a day and do not have regular breakfast. They mostly consume their meals at home and believe their habits have changed since starting college. Most students consume food according to recommendations, except fish and fruit. Students who live with their family often do not have breakfast. Students residing in student dorms consume most of their meals in a student restaurant, while other students eat meals at home. Students residing in student dorms eat eggs less frequently than other students. Most students have normal body mass. Conclusion: Most students have three meals a day and do not have breakfast regularly. They also state their habits have changed by going to college. Students eat most of the food, except fish and fruit. Students residing in student dorms eat eggs less frequently than other students and consume most of their meals in the student restaurant. Other students eat most meals at home. Most students have normal body mass.
