Aim of research: The aim of this paper was to examine whether non-formal and informal education are connected with stress in the workplace, to determine the attitude of healthcare professionals on the availability of such education and their satisfaction with its organisation, and to compare the opinions of male and female respondents. Respondents and methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 100 respondents in total. A questionnaire designed specifically for this topic was used in the research, which consisted of following sets of questions: questions about the respondent, non-formal and informal education, and the influence of education on stress in the workplace. Categorical data were presented by absolute and relative frequencies. Numerical data were described using the median and interquartile range. The correlation ranking between the stress ranking of non-formal and informal education was evaluated using Spearman's correlation coefficient (rho). Results: The results show that the connection between non-formal and informal education is positive and significant, and there is also a significant and negative connection between stress exposure and non-formal education in the men's group, which means that the men who were under greater stress have ranked their non-formal education considerably lower. Half of the respondents are satisfied with the availability of informal education. In the women's group, there is no significant connection between stress exposure and education, but the positive connection between non-formal and informal education bears significance. The self-assessment of non-formal education is considerably higher in the women's group, whereas there is no significant difference in the ranking of informal education with regard to sex. Conclusion: The obtained results show that non-formal education has a negative connection to stress. In the women's group, stress and education are not significantly connected, whereas in the men's group, the negative connection between stress exposure and education bears significance. Both groups of respondents are satisfied with the amount of available informal education in their workplace.
