Abstract | Cilj istraživanja: Utvrditi prisutnost sindroma sagorijevanja kod medicinskih sestara/tehničara zaposlenih u Općoj bolnici „Dr. T. Bardek“ Koprivnica te utvrditi povezanost sindroma sagorijevanja sa završenim formalnim stupnjevima školovanja, dobi, spolom, duljinom radnog staža i prebivalištem medicinskih sestara/tehničara. Nacrt studije: Presječna studija. Ispitanici i metode: U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 146 medicinskih sestara/tehničara zaposlenih u OB Koprivnica. Instrument istraživanja sastojao se od općih sociodemografskih podataka te skale profesionalnog sagorijevanja. Istraživanje je provedeno tijekom kolovoza i rujna 2017. godine. Rezultati: Prema vrijednosti emocionalne iscrpljenosti, 16 (11 %) ispitanika su s niskom razinom emocionalne iscrpljenosti, njih 58 (39,7 %) umjerene, a 72 (49,3 %) visoke je razine emocionalne iscrpljenosti. Nema značajne razlike u emocionalnoj iscrpljenosti u odnosu na spol, dob ispitanika, razinu obrazovanja i duljinu radnog staža. Značajno je veća emocionalna iscrpljenost kod ispitanika koji žive u gradu, u odnosu na one koji žive na selu (P = 0,03). Slabo izraženu depersonalizaciju ima 28 (19,2 %) ispitanika, dok 91 (62,3 %) ispitanik ima umjerenu razinu depersonalizacije. Značajno veći stupanj depersonalizacije imaju muškarci (P = 0,005), medicinske sestre/tehničari srednje stručne spreme (četverogodišnji i petogodišnji program) (P = 0,03), dok po ostalim obilježjima nema značajne razlike. Nema značajnih razlika u osobnom postignuću u odnosu na osnovna obilježja ispitanika. Zaključak: Sindrom sagorijevanja prisutan je kod medicinskih sestara/tehničara u OB Koprivnica. Postoji povezanost sindroma sagorijevanja s završenim stupnjem formalnog školovanja, spolom i prebivalištem. Ne postoji statistički značajna razlika prisutnosti sindroma sagorijevanja prema dobi i duljini radnog staža. |
Abstract (english) | Objectives: To determine the presence of the burnout syndrome among the nursing staff at Koprivnica General Hospital and to determine to what extent it correlates with formal education levels, age, gender, length of service and place of residence. Study design: Cross-sectional survey. Participants and methods: 146 nurses employed at Koprivnica General Hospital took part in the survey. Research instruments were general sociodemographic data and a questionnaire on professional burnout. The survey was carried out during the months of August and September 2017. Results: According to the values of emotional exhaustion, 16 (11%) participants show a low level of emotional exhaustion, 58 (39.7%) show moderate levels and 72 (49.3%) participants show a high level of emotional exhaustion. There is no significant difference in the level of emotional exhaustion related to gender, age, education level and length of service. Participants who live in town, show a significantly higher level of emotional exhaustion compared to those living in the country (P = 0.03). A low level of depersonalisation was shown by 28 (19.2%) participants, while 91 (62.3%) of them show a moderate level. Depersonalisation was significantly more present among male participants (P = 0.005) and nurses who finished four or five years of secondary education (P = 0.03), whereas there are no significant differences regarding other parameters. Significant differences in personal accomplishment related to general data about the participants have not been registered. Conclusion: The burnout syndrome is present among the nursing staff at Koprivnica General Hospital. There is a correlation between the burnout syndrome and the level of formal education, gender and place of residence. Statistically, age and length of service do not significantly affect the occurrence of the burnout syndrome. |
