Study goal: The aim of study is to show and determine the impact of symptoms present in the daily functioning of the affected and to determine which could contribute to the increase of the quality of life of patients. Study design: Cross sectional research conducted via the section in the specialist clinic at Depar-tment of Neurology, University Hospital Centre Osijek, and in the Association of people with Parkinson's disease „Awakening“. Methods and participans: The study included 31 patients diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. The method of research was structured questionnaire Parkinson's disease quality of life questio-nare (PDQL). The first six questions containing socio-demographic data with multiple choice or space to record the answer. Quality of life is investigated with a questionnaire containing 37 que-stions arranged in four domains: symptoms of illness (14), systemic symptoms (7), emotional fun-ctioning (9) and social functioning (7). Respondents indicated Likert scale of 5 degrees with gra-des representing: all the time (* 1), most of the time (2 *), occasionally (3 *), rarely (4 *), never (5 *). Results: According to the results obtained from evaluation of quality of life, we concluded that the quality of life people are significantly impaired. Most of respondents responded to given cla-ims with: most of the time and occasionally. It was found that there was no significant difference between the rankings of respondent's answers for difficulties in total, considering the age, gender and the lenght of the total duration of the illness. Conclusion: The results show the role of nurses in the education of patients and family members as well as providing direct health care. The active participation of patients in the care of themsel-ves, either by medical personnel or family, has a great influence on his perception of the quality of your life and the impact of disease on quality of life.
