Objectives: To demonstrate the frequency of hypertension in patients with kidney graft, to examine whether there is a correlation between the length of haemodialysis and the immunosuppressive therapy with hypertension, and to examine whether there is a correlation between central and peripheral haemodynamic parameters and hypertension in patients with kidney graft. Study Design: Cross-sectional study Participants and Methods: The study included 53 patients after kidney transplantation at the Department of Nephrology at Clinical Hospital Centre Osijek. Patient data was extracted from the patients' medical history. Parameters of central and peripheral haemodynamics were measured by the "Agedio B900" device. Results: The incidence of hypertension in patients with renal transplant was 86.8%. Comparison of the duration of haemodialysis treatment of patients with arterial hypertension and patients with non-arterial hypertension did not indicate statistically significant difference (p=0.344), nor did the comparison of immunosuppressive therapy of patients with arterial hypertension and patients with non-arterial hypertension (p=0.133). There was no statistically significant difference between the values of central and peripheral haemodynamic parameters in patients with hypertension and patients without hypertension, but it has been reported that in most of the patients these parameters were not within the reference values. Conclusion: The frequency of hypertension in patients with renal transplantation is high. Statistically significant correlation between the length of haemodialysis and immunosuppressive therapy and hypertension in renal transplant patients has not been found. Statistically significant difference in the parameters of central and peripheral haemodynamic parameters has not been found neither in patients with hypertension nor in those without hypertension. Increased values of augmentation index and pulse wave velocity were found, which indicated that patients have higher cardiovascular risk.
